Undecided

This is an image of one of the many arroyos that wind down to the Green River. I initially chose the sepia treatment because the color version seemed so tame, but then once I had them both it was really a tough decision. I like different aspects of each.

Then I got to thinking... there is nothing to keep me from posting two images. So there ya go.

I like the sepia version for totally different reasons than the color.

sepia - I love the texture the feel to the image if that makes any sense...trust me it's a girl thing most likely.

color - as a desert dweller myself this speaks to me of the beauty of the desert and believe me it has taken me a few years to cultivate an eye for that beauty. :)

The shapes in our parts of the world are amazing !

Okay, I've got one of my personal quirks tickling up as I lookit these two. See, I'm hearing two names... It's trivia time, what do these guys have in common? Erich Wolfgang Korngold and Ry Cooder? Hint, John Ford?

RIGHT! Grand, over-the-top movie scores played by 100 piece symphonic-types at full bravado! You know the kind of music that flings your hair back? LOOOOVIT! I can see The Duke riding full tilt around this set, six guns a-blaze.

You've captured the grandeur full volume in both images. Oh yeah, I have an absolute preference for color.

Keep these things coming.

So Ted votes for color? What a surprise :)

Hmm ... I love the marvelously executed B&W for all the intricate detail that it reveals. It's not that it wouldn't be in the color version as well, but not so obvious. Compared to that, there is only one thing that speaks for the color version: color. And of course there is the one fundamental difference, the difference between an open and a closed sky. I very much prefer closed here. B&W makes me feel like looking into a giant diorama, or maybe into a memory.

All for sepia!
